and some of us telephone but we never get through when your man comes back home your laughter is true there's a flush in your skin tone and your eyes are bright blue
They say love is blind and they say love is wild I can see on your face what you need but the road ain't too kind to those left behind and you're too young to wear widow's weeds you're too young to wear widow's weeds
When your man ain't around you take care of the plants you keep cleaning the house you keep making new plans for when your man comes back home and how you'll enchant that love that you both know and your mutual dance
Well, of course love is blind and it's certainly wild I can see on your face what you need but the road ain't too kind to those left behind and you're too young to wear widow's weeds yes, you're too young to wear widow's weeds

Part-time Widow
When your man ain't around there's a change in your eyes they darken with your mood and you wear a disguise when your man ain't around you act funny and smile but those who know you see the widow in your style
But when your man comes back home we don't see much of you
