and if no one's listening to your plea

well

they just can't see

that you need someone there to hold you now

you need some love in your life

but you're still holding out

for fame's spotlight

        So the years pass

        you forget to laugh

and it's all just hard business

but sometimes you've got to let yourself go

        'cause it all shows

in the things you don't know

and the things you keep wishing

        but you're wishing

not learning to let it grow

Your wishing might take you forever

the Shop won't really love you

but it might give you

all those things for your friends to see

but you need someone there to hold you late at night

while you're holding your dream so tight

you're still holding out

for fame's spotlight

yes it's crazy

living a lonely life

waiting

for fame's

spotlight

Still Holding Out

You wait for luck

to really feel you've made it

and all the while

life passes you by

you go to bed at night alone

holding your pillow tight

where is love tonight

So you keep up your dreaming

you're talking it up all over
