the city races by

sirens wail

and traffic stalls

in some rush of crazy time

but in slow motion

the dolphins swim

bathed in shining sun

that sun is diamonds on their skin

their discovery is youthful fun

What do those dolphins really know

of how this world is spent

they frolic in the great unknown

breathing in a magic moment

Miles up over NASA

men are tethered there in space

above the earth

they swim in air

they are somewhat the same

like those children

in the swimming pool

in a moment of transcendence

outside of traffic and business schools

on a threshold of innocence

What do those dolphins really know

of how our world is spent

they frolic in the great unknown

alive in a magic moment

what do those dolphins really know

of how this world is spent

they frolic in the Great Unknown

breathing in a magic moment

Dolphins

In the summer

the children swim

at the outdoor public pool

the sun is diamonds on their skin

they play like fish in schools

underwater

in slow motion

like dolphins in the sea

the pool is their tiny ocean

their laughter rises free

Outside the water

beyond the walls
