We had our own outrageous lifestyle

our parents thought that we were just too wild

we tripped all over town

wearing our boot heels down

and we were just like all those kids are now

so it's eye to eye

as I pass by

          You never believed the times

          when old ones told you

          that things don't really change

          down through the years

'cause with every dream you have

          it's all brand new

and the vision of your moment

          seems so clear

More kids will come along to stand there

they'll have their sayings

and their own damn cares

and I will look at them

watching my own years thin

and we will share that same look once again

it'll be eye to eye

as I pass by

eye to eye

as I pass by

eye to eye

as I pass by

Eye To Eye

I see those kids decked out in leather

they look like it will last forever

what do they see in me

when I am on the street

do they know I once too was seventeen

so it's eye to eye

as I pass by
