The East, North and South sides of the Altar also display four figures.
All are believed to be dynastic rulers of Copán.
Depicted here, from left to right:
the second ruler, whose name is unknown,
Yax K'uk'Mo (New Quetzal Macaw), the first ruler,
Yax Pasah (Sunrise or First Dawn), the 16th ruler, and
Smoke Shell (Squirrel), the 15th ruler.
